Hi there! Welcome to Practically Nutritious, a blog dedicated to simplifying nutrition and food-related topics so they are accessible to everyone. My name is Noa and I’m student at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. I’m currently in my last semester of a master’s program in Human Nutrition and will soon graduate to become a registered dietitian. One of my internship projects will be this blog, and I couldn’t be more excited to share the knowledge I have acquired with you all.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at McGill University. During my undergrad, I took a class dedicated to nutrition for the general public. This opened up a whole new and exciting world for me and led me down the path I am on now. That class, and others that came after it, increased my enthusiasm for taking complicated subjects and making them accessible for everyone. I recently continued to explore this passion by creating a “Lunch and Learn” style cookbook, which included nutrition information on various topics, as well as recipes. This blog is the natural continuation of that project.
My mission is to do the research so you don’t have to. I will be posting material on nutrition basics for those interested in building up their knowledge, while also creating short and sweet “tips and tricks” articles for those of you who just want some answers.
Although I am still learning, I have realized that what is most important to me is to provide information and educate others. I will never tell you what not to eat and will never advocate eating less, following rigid rules, or focusing on your weight. I want to give you the information to make your own choices about what you eat, while encouraging you to enjoy and appreciate food. I want to concentrate on overall well-being and hope you will join me for this journey.
What else should you know about me? Besides my love of all things food-related, I am also an avid jogger, an amateur ceramicist, and enjoy hiking, trekking and travel.
